Applying Corrections to Authoritative NZ Nautical Publications

Licensed mariners and other parties covered by Maritime Rules Part 25 are required to keep their nautical publications corrected as to Notices to Mariners.

Applying Corrections to Charts

LINZ recommends the use of the British Admiralty publication "How to Keep your Admiralty Charts Up-to-Date" (NP294) for instructions on applying Notices to Mariners corrections to nautical charts. This publication is available for purchase in New Zealand from the Admiralty Chart Agent, Trans Pacific Marine Ltd

Applying Corrections to the Nautical Almanac

The New Zealand Nautical Almanac (NZ 204) provides a table (on page 2) to record the completion of corrections for each edition of Notices to Mariners. The individual sections of the NZ Nautical Almanac available on this website are corrected to Notices to Mariners. Each new edition of the Nautical Almanac (available annually from July 1st) contains a note on page 1, stating the last Notices to Mariners edition applied to the publication before print. It is up to the purchaser to update for any subsequent Notices to Mariners corrections to the Nautical Almanac.
